
Long Tall Sally is a multi-channel retailer of fashion for taller women. As well as an online presence, they have 20 stores around the UK and a telesales operation. Their mission is to be the first choice in fashion for tall women in the UK and worldwide. After winning a competitive pitch to design a new website for Long Tall Sally, we were also awarded the identity re-brand and mail order design work as well. This was due to “the strength of your concepts and our belief in your ability to power the brand into its next phase of development”.
We started by giving the brand a more upmarket identity, to give it greater exposure to the affluent tall market. And then created a website with easy client-side updates in mind. We also designed a blog and forum for the site, which includes video and customer reviews, and created a new ‘tabbed’ carousel to increase the number of products featured on the home page. We were also responsible for the creative design, art direction and photography for the Long Tall Sally mail order catalogue.
The project is a good example of a successful and coordinated deployment of a fashion brand across multiple sales channels (identity, web, mail order, store). By appealing to a more affluent “tall” market, we’ve created a more sophisticated and revitalised brand, helping to push sales figures to new highs.
The brand was recently nominated for the Retail Week Internet Awards 2009.
