
When Joules, the multi-channel fashion retailer, needed to update their online presence, they turned to to Paul Lewis Design for creative inspiration, best practice page design and swift delivery.
Joules is all about flair, humour and easy to wear style. We were tasked with creating a user experience that was quirky, characterful, engaging and highly commercial.
We developed a visual language for the site that relies on hand drawn pencil lines, distressed backgrounds and character illustration. This provides personality for the brand and a character framework for Joules imagery and products. We kept product images as large as possible and allowed white space to flow through the pages to keep the site feeling bright and light. We widened the site to maximise the screen-estate available for product and to assist the shopping process.
Our designs were the first ever accepted by Joules from an outside creative agency. The new site reflects the modern approach we brought to it and is proving highly successful.
