Background

Cath Kidston sells vintage fabric, wallpapers, fashion and homeware around the world. The first website we designed for Cath Kidson was universally well received, so we were the natural choice when they wanted to update their site and migrate it to a new platform.

Challenge

Our brief was to keep the best of the old site design, but inject it with more of the quirky fun feel of the brand, improve the image sizes and navigation, and create a more flexible page layout to allow the client greater autonomy over page changes and marketing initiatives.

Solution

We increased the width of the site to allow for larger image sizes and to help create a more modern feel. We also introduced ‘category landing’ pages with stronger lifestyle images and more choice for the consumer, redesigned the checkout process and refined the entire consumer-facing service pages. The site design also allows our client to easily insert different Cath Kidson ‘fabrics’ and regularly update the background.

Results

The result is a site that has dramatically exceeded its commercial targets since its relaunch.
